Position Summary

We are looking for an energetic and organized School Librarian to manage and curate our school library resources. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a school environment, possess a strong foundation in library management systems, and demonstrate a passion for encouraging reading habits among students. You will be responsible for day-to-day library operations, cataloging books, guiding students in research, and maintaining a welcoming, well-organized learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Library Operations & Management: Oversee daily operations, including issue/return of books, maintaining catalog databases, organizing shelves, and tracking inventory.
- Student & Teacher Engagement: Guide students across different grade levels in selecting appropriate reading materials, finding reference books, and developing strong reading habits.
- Resource Cataloging & Digitalization: Maintain and update the Library Management System (LMS) with digital cataloging, classification (Dewey Decimal System or similar), and indexing.
- Library Program Organization:



Organize literacy events, book fairs, reading drives, and library week celebrations to actively promote a reading culture in the school.
- Inventory & Procurement: Identify curriculum needs in coordination with teaching faculty, recommend new book purchases, subscribe to journals/magazines, and perform periodic stock audits.
- Digital & Information Literacy: Assist students and educators with basic digital research tools, online reference materials, and e-learning resources.
- Maintenance & Discipline: Ensure the library remains a quiet, clean, and conducive space for reading and independent study.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib) or Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib) from a recognized university.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working as a Librarian or Assistant Librarian specifically within a school (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State Board) environment.
- Immediate Availability: Candidate must be an immediate joiner or able to join within 1015 days.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Library Management Systems (LMS) software and basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, patience with young learners, and robust organizational abilities.
