Job Role : Safety Officer
Job Location: Lonavala, Maharashtra
Qualification: B.Tech/ Diploma any Specialization
We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to manage and implement Health, Safety and Workplace (HSE) practices for road and highway Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe road operations, work-zone safety, traffic management, incident prevention, contractor safety compliance and adherence to applicable statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Road & Highway O&M; Safety
- Monitor safety activities during routine and periodic road maintenance works.
B. Traffic Management & Work-Zone Safety
- Verify Traffic Management Plans (TMP) before starting maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper placement of road signs, reflective barricades,
delineators and night-warning lights.
C. HSE Compliance & Risk Assessment
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance..
D. Incident Management & Emergency Response
- Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe acts.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
E. Training & Reporting
- Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contract workers and vendors.
- Deliver toolbox talks on road safety, working at height, electrical safety and equipment operation, as applicable.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, O&M; Manager, Site Engineers and Safety Manager.
