Job Overview

We are seeking a Retool Support Engineer to support and maintain our Retool applications and deployment infrastructure while helping establish a Citizen Development team.

This role will focus on the ongoing support, lifecycle management, maintenance, and enhancement of Retool applications, along with the infrastructure and CI/CD processes that support them. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Retool, Terraform, Jenkins, and AWS, along with a strong understanding of IT service management and production support practices.

You will work closely with existing Retool developers to gain knowledge of the current setting, support operational continuity, and help enable non-software engineers to build and maintain applications using low-code development tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Retool Application Support: Provide operational support for Retool applications, including enhancements, patches, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
- Infrastructure as Code: Deploy and manage Retool infrastructure using Terraform and established Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- CI/CD Management: Support and maintain Jenkins pipelines for application deployments, infrastructure changes, and release management.
- AWS Infrastructure: Work with AWS-hosted Retool environments, supporting deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Incident Management: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and infrastructure incidents in accordance with established support processes.
- ITSM and Change Management: Manage service requests, incidents, changes, and releases in line with IT service management (ITSM) practices.
- Application Lifecycle Management:



Coordinate application upgrades, patches, enhancements, releases, and ongoing maintenance.
- Monitoring and Operational Support: Help establish effective application monitoring, identify recurring issues, and improve operational reliability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain support procedures, troubleshooting guides, deployment documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate with existing Retool developers to gain knowledge of the current platform, architecture, deployment processes, and support requirements.
- Citizen Development Enablement: Help establish and support a Citizen Development team by enabling non-software engineers to develop and maintain applications using Retool and related tools.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate support activities, streamline deployments, and improve application stability and support efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- Hands-on experience supporting, maintaining, or developing applications using Retool .
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure deployment using Terraform .
- Experience working with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-hosted application environments .
- Experience with application support, production troubleshooting, incident resolution,



and service request management.
- Understanding of application lifecycle management, release management, patching, and upgrades.
- Knowledge of ITSM processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
- Ability to document technical procedures, operational processes, and support workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting low-code/no-code platforms or enterprise citizen development initiatives.
- Experience establishing operational support processes for applications built by non-traditional development teams.
- Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure deployments managed through Terraform.
- Experience automating infrastructure provisioning and application deployment workflows.
- Experience with application monitoring, alerting, and production support improvements.
- Ability to work with development teams during knowledge transfer and transition applications into ongoing support.
