Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer – Foundry to inspect casting components, identify casting defects, ensure dimensional accuracy, and maintain quality standards throughout the foundry manufacturing process. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of foundry quality control, inspection techniques, engineering drawings, and quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect casting components for defects such as blowholes, porosity, shrinkage, cracks, and sand inclusion.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cast components.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Assist with chemical composition analysis, hardness testing, and mechanical testing.
- Identify, record, and report casting defects and quality deviations.
- Maintain inspection reports, rejection records, and other quality-related documents.




- Coordinate with production teams to identify root causes of defects and support corrective actions.
- Maintain quality records using MS Excel and other basic computer applications.
- Ensure compliance with established quality standards and inspection procedures.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of foundry processes and casting defects.
- Basic understanding of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
- Knowledge of visual inspection and casting quality assessment.
- Basic knowledge of chemical composition, hardness testing, and mechanical testing.
- Familiarity with inspection reports, rejection records, and quality documentation.
- Basic computer skills, especially MS Excel.
- Positive observation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

Educational Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Foundry Technology.

Experience

1–6 years of experience in foundry quality, casting inspection, or quality control in a manufacturing environment.

Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience and skills.
