Role & responsibilities

Inspect incoming raw materials, including steel plates, sections, coils, bolts, and other structural components.

Verify material test certificates (MTCs), material traceability, and compliance with approved specifications.

Inspect fabrication activities, including cutting, drilling, fit-up, welding, and dimensional accuracy.

Monitor welding quality, WPS compliance, welder qualifications, and inspection requirements.

Coordinate and review NDT activities such as UT, MT, PT, and RT, as applicable.

Inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, primer application, painting, and dry film thickness (DFT).

Verify dimensional tolerances, camber, alignment, and other requirements against approved shop drawings.

Conduct in-process and final inspections and prepare inspection reports.

Prepare and maintain ITPs, checklists, inspection records, and quality documentation.

Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.

Coordinate with production, design, project, and client inspection teams.

Ensure compliance with approved drawings,



project specifications, and applicable standards.

Support final inspection, dispatch clearance, and erection quality inspections at site.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience in structural steel fabrication or the PEB industry is preferred.

Knowledge of welding inspection, dimensional inspection, painting inspection, and quality documentation.

Familiarity with relevant IS, AWS, ASTM, and other project-specific standards.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems is desirable.

Required Skills

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.

Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection tools.
