About the RoleLuman Industries Limited is seeking an experienced and results-driven SCM / Purchase Manager to lead end-to-end procurement, inventory management, vendor development and supply chain operations at our Pantnagar facility.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in an IATF 16949-certified automotive manufacturing environment, with hands-on expertise in SAP/ERP systems, inventory optimization, supplier management and cost reduction.

The role requires effective coordination with production, quality, maintenance and finance teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability, operational efficiency and compliance with manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Purchase Management

- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, consumables, maintenance spares and services.
- Plan purchasing activities based on operational and production requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Identify and implement opportunities for purchase cost reduction and process improvement.

2. Inventory & Supply Chain Management

- Monitor inventory levels, stock aging and material availability.
- Optimize inventory holding and working capital utilization.
- Ensure stock accuracy through physical verification and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance and finance teams to maintain smooth supply chain operations.
- Oversee maintenance spares planning and inventory control.

3. SAP / ERP & MIS Reporting

- Ensure effective utilization of SAP/ERP systems for procurement, inventory and vendor management.
- Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records within ERP systems.
- Prepare and review MIS reports related to purchasing, inventory and supply chain performance.




- Strengthen ERP-driven operational controls and reporting accuracy.

4. Vendor Development & Cost Optimization

- Develop and manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Drive vendor development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support supplier-related compliance and operational requirements.

5. IATF Compliance & Audit Management

- Ensure procurement and inventory processes comply with applicable IATF 16949 requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and strengthen process compliance.

6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Lead and guide the purchase and supply chain functions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to resolve procurement and material-related issues.
- Drive process improvements, operational discipline and accountability.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Supply Chain or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an IATF 16949-certified automotive manufacturing company.
- Hands-on experience with SAP / ERP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Solid understanding of purchasing operations, inventory management and vendor development.
- Experience in cost optimization, stock reconciliation, MIS reporting and audit handling.
- Proven team leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
