Title – Purchase Manager

Experience - 5-7 Years

Job Summary

The Purchase Manager will lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage high-value contracts, optimize the global/local supply chain, and ensure that every nut, bolt and heavy machine arrives on-site exactly when needed to prevent liquidated damages (LDs).

Key Responsibilities

- Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project timelines and budgets
- Forecast material requirements based on project schedules and engineering input
- Identify and onboard Tier-1 vendors, conducting rigorous technical and financial audits.
- Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and contractors




- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to optimize cost and quality
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply and service
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory norms (e.g., PESO, EPR)
- Oversee documentation including purchase orders, inspection reports, and vendor agreements
- Draft, review, and finalize Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders (WOs) with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor procurement costs and contribute to budgeting and cost-saving initiatives
- Analyse market trends and price fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the bridge between the Planning, Engineering, and Site teams to ensure technical specifications match procurement actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and finance departments
- Resolve supply chain issues and ensure timely delivery of critical materials
- Team Leadership & Digital Integration
- Mentor and lead a team of Assistant Managers, Purchase Assistants and Store In-charges.
- Drive the usage of ERP systems for real-time inventory tracking and transparent reporting.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook and data analysis tools.

Desired Candidate Profile

 Bachelor’s degree

 Experience in EPC industry or - 4+ yrs

 Robust negotiation, analytical, and vendor evaluation skills

 Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools

 Knowledge of technical equipment (e.g., Electrical Equipment/ Mechanical Equipment/ Instrumentation etc) and - regulatory standards

 Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (formal business correspondence)

Location and Salary Budget

 Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai

 Working Days: Monday to Saturday

 Expected CTC: 8-10LPA (Negotiable basis experience and fit)
