Role Description The Purchasing Engineer will be responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including planning procurement needs, preparing and processing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves analyzing requirements, evaluating supplier quotations, optimizing costs, and maintaining accurate purchasing records.



The role includes close collaboration with internal teams to understand technical specifications, ensure compliance with company standards and timelines, and support continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

The Purchasing

Engineer will also monitor supplier performance, assist in vendor development, and contribute to data-driven decision-making for procurement strategies.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Purchasing Processes, Purchase Management, and Purchase Planning.
- Candidates should possess practical experience in handling Purchase Orders and related documentation.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to compare quotations, assess costs, and support data-based procurement decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor management, and basic contract terms.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or procurement software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site in Chennai.
- Relevant experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or qualified services environment is an advantage.
