Job Purpose To supervise and control day-to-day production activities during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely production in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise production activities and manpower during the assigned shift.
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved SOPs, batch manufacturing records, and process parameters.
- Monitor chemical reactions, charging, heating, cooling, filtration, drying, mixing, and other process operations.
- Check and maintain critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, vacuum, flow rate, and reaction time.
- Ensure correct identification, weighing, dispensing, and charging of raw materials.
- Monitor production equipment and coordinate with the maintenance department for breakdowns or abnormalities.
- Ensure proper sampling and coordination with the Quality Control department for in-process and finished-product testing.
- Maintain production records, logbooks, batch records, shift reports, and equipment records accurately.
- Investigate process deviations, abnormal observations, yield variations, and equipment-related issues and report them to the Production Manager.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with GMP/GLP, SOPs, safety procedures, and environmental requirements, wherever applicable.
- Supervise operators and allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Conduct shift handover and communicate important production, quality, safety, and maintenance issues to the incoming shift.




- Monitor production yield, cycle time, material consumption, and process efficiency.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and process waste.
- Take immediate action during emergencies, spills, equipment failures, or unsafe conditions as per site procedures.
- Train operators and junior staff on process procedures, safety, and good manufacturing practices.
- Coordinate with QC, QA, Maintenance, Stores, EHS, and other departments for smooth production operations.
- Ensure achievement of daily/shift production targets without compromising safety or quality.

Required Skills

- Valuable knowledge of chemical manufacturing and production processes.
- Understanding of chemical reactions, process parameters, and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of SOPs, batch documentation, GMP, safety, and quality requirements.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to supervise and manage shift manpower.
- Good communication and shift-handover skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle production emergencies.
- Basic computer knowledge for production documentation and reporting.
