Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review piping specifications including WALL thickness calculations, piping class, and material specifications in accordance with ASME and IBR codes.
- Perform flexibility analysis for Boiler integral piping, Soot blower piping ,SH/RH spray, Aux.steam piping and etc.
- Resolve complex piping design and engineering issues on projects.
- Design and specify piping supports, create piping support summaries, and ensure proper placement in coordination with structural teams.
- Prepare accurate Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Piping supports procurement and planning.
- Prepare stress Isometric drawing
- Ensure compliance with international and national codes and standards such as ASME B31.1 and IBR.
- Review vendor drawings and technical documentation related to piping supports.
- Prepare spring hanger specifications
- Prepare piping support specifications.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including process, mechanical, civil, and project management to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and client meetings as needed.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in piping engineering, layout development, and piping design software.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME, IBR, and relevant piping codes and standards.
- Proficient in Caesar II for stress analysis.
- Robust problem-solving skills in resolving piping design and interface issues.
- Working knowledge of 3D design tools (e.g., PDMS, SP3D,AutoCAD Plant 3D) is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage project schedules and deliverables efficiently under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in piping engineering and design in power, energy, or industrial sectors.
