Role Description The Physical Automation Mech Design Engineer is a full time, in office role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This position is responsible for designing mechanical systems and components for physical automation solutions, including concept development, detailed design, and preparation of engineering drawings and documentation. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, selecting appropriate materials and mechanisms, performing basic calculations and design validations, and supporting prototype build and testing.

The engineer will participate in design reviews, refine designs based on feedback and test results,



and work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure smooth implementation on the shop floor. The role also involves troubleshooting mechanical issues in existing automation setups and contributing to continuous improvement of design standards and practices.

Qualifications

- Solid mechanical design skills, including 3D CAD modeling, drafting, and tolerance analysis for automation systems.
- Understanding of mechanisms, motion systems, actuators, and basic machine elements used in industrial automation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications, and translate customer requirements into design solutions.
- Experience or coursework in robotics, mechatronics, or integration of mechanical systems with electrical and control components is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document designs and test results clearly.
- Prior internship or industry experience in automation, machine design, or special-purpose machinery is an advantage.
