Key Responsibilities

- Dispense psychiatric and general medicines according to authorized doctors' prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions, including medication names, dosages, quantities, and administration instructions.
- Maintain adequate stock of psychiatric medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anti-anxiety medicines.
- Ensure the secure storage and handling of medicines according to prescribed storage conditions.
- Maintain records of medicine purchases, dispensing, stock movement, and expiry dates.
- Monitor medicine stock levels and coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment.
- Check batch numbers, expiry dates, and the condition of medicines regularly.
- Coordinate with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication availability.
- Support medication safety by identifying and reporting prescription discrepancies or potential medication-related concerns to the treating doctor.
- Maintain pharmacy billing, invoices, stock registers, and other required documentation.
- Assist with pharmacy audits, inspections, and hospital quality documentation.
- Follow hospital policies,



patient safety standards, and applicable pharmacy regulations.

Educational Qualification
- D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council

Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or psychiatric pharmacy is preferred.
- Freshers with the required qualification and valid registration may also apply.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of psychiatric and general medicines.
- Understanding of prescription interpretation and medication safety.
- Inventory management and pharmacy documentation skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and billing skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
