Role Description The Owner role at Basilic Fly Studio in Kannur is a full time, on-site leadership position responsible for overseeing the studio’s operations, strategic direction, and overall business performance. On a day-to-day basis, the Owner provides guidance to production and creative teams, sets priorities for projects, and ensures that client expectations are met with high-quality deliverables and timely delivery.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, approving major investments, building and maintaining client relationships, and supporting the development of new services and markets. The Owner also works closely with department heads to optimize workflows, nurture talent,



and uphold a positive, inclusive workplace culture. This role involves frequent decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainable growth.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in studio leadership, business management, or entrepreneurial roles within the media, entertainment, or VFX industry.
- Strong understanding of visual effects production workflows, project management, and client servicing for film, television, or commercial projects.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets, and drive revenue growth while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and build long-term client relationships.
- Capability to make data-informed decisions, address operational challenges, and implement process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working on-site in Kannur, with readiness to collaborate across multiple studio locations and time zones as needed.
- Relevant academic background in business, media management, or a related field is advantageous; equivalent professional experience is highly valued.
