LEMONGRASS is a garment manufacturing company specialising in kidswear, particularly school uniforms for international schools in India and overseas. We focus on quality, design, systematic production planning, and timely delivery to meet the expectations of our institutional clients.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and responsible Merchandiser cum Designer to manage and coordinate the complete garment production cycle, from designing and sampling to fabric procurement, production, quality control, and final dispatch.

We welcome both freshers who are eager to learn and build a career in garment manufacturing and experienced professionals with relevant industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

1. Garment Designing & Sampling

- Understand customer requirements, purchase orders, garment specifications, and design briefs.
- Assist in garment designing, technical specifications, size charts, and measurement sheets.
- Coordinate sample development, fitting, size sets, and pre-production samples.
- Ensure samples meet approved designs, fabric specifications, colours, measurements, and quality standards.

2. Fabric & Accessories Procurement

- Coordinate with fabric suppliers, mills, and accessory vendors for quotations and timely procurement.
- Calculate material requirements according to purchase orders and production plans.
- Monitor fabric availability, colour matching, shrinkage, and quality specifications.
- Maintain proper records of material procurement, consumption, and inventory.

Production Planning & Coordination

- Prepare order-wise production plans and delivery schedules based on customer purchase orders.
- Coordinate with factories, job workers, cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing teams.
- Monitor daily production progress and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Identify production delays and take appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain systematic production records and provide regular updates to management.

4. Production Quality Control

- Monitor garment quality at every stage, including fabric inspection, cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing.
- Check garment measurements, stitching, workmanship, colours, and approved specifications.
- Ensure bulk production matches approved samples and customer requirements.
- Coordinate corrective actions to minimise defects, rework, and material wastage.

5. Order Execution & Dispatch

- Coordinate the complete order lifecycle, from purchase order receipt to final dispatch.
- Ensure correct SKU, colour, size ratio, quantity, labelling, branding, and packing.
- Coordinate logistics and dispatch documentation.
- Ensure all consignments are completed and dispatched within committed timelines.

6. Factory Visits & Coordination

- Travel frequently to garment manufacturing units and job-work facilities across Mumbai's suburbs.
- Supervise production progress, quality, productivity, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with factory supervisors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.





Eligibility & Desired Skills
- Candidates with a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Garment Technology, Textile Technology, or Merchandising are preferred.
- Freshers with a genuine interest in garment designing, merchandising, and production management are welcome.
- Experienced candidates should have relevant knowledge of garment manufacturing, sampling, fabric, accessories, and production processes.
- Good organisational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel, is desirable.
- Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and work systematically.
- Willingness to travel frequently to factories in Mumbai's suburbs.
