Role Description The Melter role is a full time, on-site position based in Bhilai. The Melter is responsible for operating and monitoring furnaces, managing metal melting processes, and ensuring correct temperature, composition, and quality of molten metal according to production specifications. Day-to-day tasks include charging furnaces with raw materials, observing instruments and control panels, taking and testing samples, and coordinating with production and quality teams to meet output targets.

The role involves following strict safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness around the furnace area, performing basic equipment checks,



and reporting any technical issues or irregularities to supervisors. The Melter also assists in documentation of production data and supports continuous improvement in melting practices and efficiency.

Qualifications

- Experience in furnace operation, metal melting, or foundry work, preferably in mining or metals manufacturing.
- Knowledge of basic metallurgy concepts, temperature control, and metal composition testing.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, and work in high-temperature industrial environments.
- Skill in monitoring gauges, control panels, and production parameters, with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine checks and coordination with maintenance teams when required.
- Minimum high school or equivalent education; vocational training or certificate in foundry, metallurgy, or industrial operations is an advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability, with a willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
