Role Overview

A leading global biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support its Oncology Medical Affairs function. The role will focus on establishing and maintaining credible scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers and other external medical experts.

The successful candidate will facilitate high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange, communicate clinical and therapeutic developments, support medical education and research initiatives, and provide scientific insights to internal stakeholders. The position requires strong oncology expertise, excellent communication skills and a commitment to scientific integrity, ethical engagement and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Scientific Engagement: Establish and maintain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, academic institutions and external experts within the assigned territory.

- Medical Affairs Expertise: Serve as a scientific subject-matter expert in Oncology, providing accurate, balanced and evidence-based medical information on relevant disease areas, therapies and emerging clinical data.

- Territory & Engagement Planning: Develop and execute scientific engagement plans, identify priority stakeholders and capture relevant medical insights through approved CRM platforms.

- Medical Education & Scientific Exchange: Deliver scientific presentations, facilitate clinical discussions and support medical education initiatives in response to stakeholder needs.

- Research & Clinical Study Support: Support investigator-initiated studies, medical research projects, registries and other relevant clinical or epidemiological initiatives, in accordance with applicable protocols and governance requirements.





- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access and other internal teams to share scientific insights and strengthen therapeutic-area knowledge, while maintaining appropriate medical independence.

- Scientific Meetings & Publications: Participate in relevant medical conferences and scientific meetings, communicate key clinical developments and support scientific publication-related activities.

- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all external engagements, research-related activities and medical communications comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- MBBS or MD preferred; candidates with relevant undergraduate qualifications and substantial Oncology experience may also be considered.

- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs and the role of scientific engagement in supporting appropriate patient care.

- Knowledge of clinical research methodologies and relevant regulatory requirements is an advantage.

- Excellent scientific communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.

- Ability to interpret clinical data, understand emerging scientific evidence and communicate complex information clearly.

- Proven ability to build and maintain qualified relationships with KOLs, physicians, researchers and healthcare decision-makers.

- Strong commitment to ethical conduct, scientific accuracy, compliance and medical integrity.
