Role Overview The Logistics Lead will orchestrate end-to-end warehousing, primary freight, and secondary fulfilment operations across Cookie Man’s omnichannel network. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and temperature-compliant dispatch of fresh baked cookies, premium chocolates, and festive seasonal lines (such as Christmas Plum Cakes and Gift Boxes) to Modern Trade retail chains, E-commerce/Quick Commerce fulfilment centres, and franchise kiosks nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Channel Distribution & Order Fulfilment

- Manage dispatch scheduling and last-mile service level agreements (SLAs) across key channels:
- Modern Trade (MT): Ensure strict compliance with delivery appointments, Purchase Order (PO) window timelines, Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), and palletizing standards for national retail partners (e.g., Reliance Retail, Nature's Basket, Spencer's).
- Online & Quick-Commerce (D2C / Marketplaces / Q-Comm): Oversee fast-turnaround replenishment to Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart dark stores, driving OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance.
- Exclusive Stores & Franchise Kiosks: Coordinate weekly scheduled dispatches of proprietary batter, dry mixes, and finished baked goods to retail outlets.

2. Warehouse & Inventory Operations

- Supervise central finished goods (FG) warehousing and regional Third-Party Logistics (3PL) nodes.
- Enforce strict FEFO (First Expired, First Out)

inventory rotation protocols to minimize transit shrinkage and near-expiry write-offs.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and monthly physical audits, reconciling inventory across ERP (SAP/ERPNext) and warehouse management systems.

3. Cold Chain & Ambient Freight Management

- Procure and manage line-haul road freight, courier, reefer transport, and express air shipments across pan-India routes.
- Implement cold-chain transit controls for heat-sensitive product lines (chocolates, cream fillings, delicate gift boxes) to eliminate melt or transit-shock damages.
- Track vehicle turnaround time (TAT), dock scheduling, route optimization, and carrier performance scorecards.

4. Peak Season & Festive Logistics Planning

- Partner with the Demand Planning and Production teams to build surge-capacity logistics frameworks for peak festive quarters (Christmas, New Year, Diwali).
- Secure advance carrier fleet capacity, buffer warehouse footprints, and packaging staging to support 2x–3x standard dispatch volume.

5. Cost Optimization & Commercial Governance

- Negotiate freight rate cards, warehouse handling charges, and (Service Level Agreement) SLA penalty clauses with logistics partners.
- Monitor key cost drivers (cost per kilogram/case shipped, freight as a percentage of sales revenue, detention/demurrage expenses).
- Audit freight invoices, verify proof of delivery (POD), and ensure dispute-free settlement with vendors.

6. Statutory & Food Safety Compliance

- Ensure all consignments strictly adhere to regulatory mandates,

including FSSAI storage/transit hygiene guidelines, E-Way Bills, GST documentation, and interstate carrier transit declarations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- OTIF (On-Time In-Full): across Modern Trade and E-commerce.
- Transit Damage & Shrinkage: of gross dispatch value.
- Logistics Cost to Net Sales: Maintain at or below budgeted targets.
- Dock-to-Stock / Dispatch TAT: Modern Trade PO fulfilment within 24–48 hours of staging.
- POD (Proof of Delivery) Turnaround: digital POD collection within 72 hours of delivery.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Commerce, or Engineering. An MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management or SCM certification (APICS CSCP/CLTD) is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 6–10 years of logistics, warehouse, and dispatch experience within FMCG, Food & Beverage, Packaged Bakery, or Quick-Service Restaurant (QSR) industries.
- Channel Familiarity: Direct hands-on experience handling vendor portals, appointment slots, and delivery guidelines for major Indian Up-to-date Trade accounts and Quick Commerce platforms.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM/SD, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills for freight lane analysis, truck-fill optimization, and KPI dashboards.
- Core Competencies: Strong vendor negotiation skills, cross-functional crisis management under tight festive deadlines, and deep familiarity with pan-India road freight routes and cold-chain compliance.
