Legal Director (India, Thailand & Malaysia)

Location: Mumbai, India

Our client is a global life science company. We are looking for a senior legal leader to serve as primary legal advisor across India, Thailand & Malaysia.

What you'll do

- Advise senior leaders on legal and compliance matters across the three markets
- Cover healthcare compliance, regulatory, advertising & promotion, product liability and disputes
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (distributor, customer, government, consulting, strategic alliance)
- Manage legal and compliance risks with practical, business-aligned strategies
- Partner with Compliance and Privacy teams; support investigations, disputes and litigation
- Champion legal service transformation through AI, automation and digital platforms
- Build and operate a centralised legal hub in India

What we're looking for





- LLB recognised in India; licensed to practice in India (LLM preferred)
- 12 + years' PQE
- Senior in-house or equivalent experience in regulated industries
- Robust knowledge of India, Thailand & Malaysia healthcare, regulatory and commercial law
- Strong negotiation, drafting and contract interpretation skills
- Clear, commercially grounded advice to senior stakeholders
- Experience managing complex contracts, legal risk and external counsel

Preferred: healthcare / medical device / pharma background; regional experience across India, Thailand & Malaysia. Other: Fluent English (regional languages a plus); up to 25% international travel. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. REF: 17296/LN
