Role Description The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core systems that power PInterview’s online mock interview platform. This full-time remote role includes leading end-to-end development of back-end services, APIs, and integrations that support real-time video/telephonic sessions, scheduling, user management, and analytics. The person in this role will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, while ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, maintainable code, performing code reviews,



mentoring other engineers, and driving best practices in software architecture, testing, and deployment.

Engineer will also contribute to technology strategy, help select tools and frameworks, and support continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and scalable server-side applications.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming using contemporary languages and frameworks relevant to web platforms.
- Solid understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts in production systems.
- Experience leading engineering projects or teams, including code reviews, mentoring, and technical decision-making.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and CI/CD pipelines for deploying and monitoring web applications.
- Familiarity with security best practices, performance optimization, and reliability in distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment, and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
- Experience in edtech, online learning, or real-time communication platforms is a plus.
