We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced L3 Network Engineer to join our team at Wits Innovation Lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network architectures.

Roles and Responsibility

- Design, implement, and maintain large-scale network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using tools like packet capture, Wireshark, and TCP dump.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new services and applications into the existing network architecture.

- Develop and maintain documentation of network architecture, topology, and procedures.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security, scalability, and performance.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on networking protocols, technologies, and troubleshooting techniques.

Job Requirements

- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching protocols (VLANs,



Spanning Tree Protocol), and firewall technologies (Cisco ASA).

- Experience with network management tools such as Cisco Nexus and SolarWinds NPM/IPAM.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop creative solutions.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Robust knowledge of network security principles and practices, including firewall configuration and access control.
