Knitting Manager Domestic Grey Fabric

Location: Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu

Department: Knitting / Production

Industry: Textile Manufacturing

Reporting To: General Manager Production / Plant Head

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology / Textile Engineering preferred.
- Relevant technical knowledge of knitting operations and grey fabric manufacturing.

Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in knitting operations, preferably in a textile mill or knitted fabric manufacturing unit.
- Prior experience managing a knitting department or production team is preferred.

Required Skills
- Solid knowledge of circular knitting machines and knitting processes.
- Knowledge of yarn quality, fabric construction, GSM, gauge, and loop length.
- Production planning, quality control, and machine utilization.
- Team management, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with production reports and Excel-based monitoring.

- Production target achievement.
- Machine efficiency and utilization.
- Fabric rejection and defect rates.
- Yarn wastage and production cost control.
- On-time order completion.
- Manpower productivity and machine downtime.

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Knitting Manager to manage knitting operations for domestic grey fabric production. The candidate will be responsible for production planning,

machine utilization, fabric quality,



manpower management, production efficiency, and timely delivery while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, and monitor knitting production according to customer orders and delivery timelines.
- Manage knitting machines, including circular knitting machines, and ensure optimum machine utilization.
- Oversee production of domestic grey fabrics according to required specifications,GSM, diameter, gauge, loop length, and fabric construction.
- Monitor fabric quality and minimize defects such as holes, needle lines, barr, oil stains,and GSM variation.
- Coordinate with yarn stores, quality control, maintenance, dyeing, and merchandising teams.
- Ensure proper yarn selection, lot traceability, yarn consumption control, and minimal wastage.
- Monitor daily production, machine efficiency, downtime, rejection rates, and production costs.
- Manage manpower allocation, shift schedules, attendance, and workforce productivity.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and resolve recurring machine-related issues with the maintenance team.
- Maintain production reports, machine-wise output records, quality reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve fabric quality.
- Ensure workplace safety, housekeeping, and adherence to company procedures.
