Job Summary

Zion Global School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Kindergarten / Homeroom Teacher to nurture young learners and create a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate should have a passion for early childhood education and the ability to support children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development through play-based and activity-oriented learning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Learning

- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for kindergarten students.
- Teach foundational skills in English, Mathematics, Tamil, phonics, rhymes, and environmental awareness, as assigned.
- Use play-based learning, storytelling, rhymes, hands-on activities, and teaching aids to make learning engaging.
- Develop children's listening, speaking, pre-reading, pre-writing, and numeracy skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, and learning resources.

2. Classroom Management

- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom.
- Establish positive classroom routines and encourage discipline, sharing, teamwork, and independence.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of children throughout the school day.
- Encourage participation and provide individual attention according to each child's learning needs.

3. Assessment and Student Development

- Observe and assess children's academic progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain student portfolios, assessment records, and progress reports.
- Identify learning difficulties and provide appropriate support.
- Encourage creativity, confidence, communication, and social interaction.

4. Parent Communication





- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and discuss children's strengths and areas for improvement.
- Respond to parental concerns in a constructive and timely manner.

5. Administrative and Team Responsibilities

- Maintain attendance records, lesson plans, and other academic documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to implement academic plans and school policies.
- Participate in school events, celebrations, training sessions, and co-curricular activities.
- Follow the school's child protection, safety, discipline, and professional conduct guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline; a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- NTT, Montessori, ECCE, or equivalent early childhood teaching qualification is desirable.
- Prior experience in kindergarten or preschool teaching is preferred.
- Good communication skills in English; Tamil proficiency is an added advantage.
- Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Creativity, patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital teaching resources.
