About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Road & Highway Design Expert to provide technical design and engineering support for ongoing and upcoming road/highway infrastructure and PMC projects. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and providing technical inputs on road and highway designs while coordinating with project teams, consultants, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and provide technical inputs on highway and road alignment designs.

Review horizontal and vertical alignment, geometric design, cross-sections, profiles, junctions, and related road design elements.

Review and verify design drawings, technical reports, BOQs, and design calculations.

Provide technical guidance on highway design in accordance with applicable IRC, MoRTH, and relevant project specifications/standards.

Review consultants’ and contractors’ design submissions and provide observations/recommendations.

Identify design issues and provide practical and technically sound solutions.

Coordinate with civil, structural, drainage, traffic, and other engineering disciplines.

Provide inputs on road safety, constructability, and optimization of proposed designs.

Assist in resolving technical queries and design-related issues during project execution.

Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams as required.

Review design modifications and recommend suitable alternatives based on project requirements.

Provide expert technical support to the project team on an as-needed basis.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree in Transportation/Highway Engineering will be an advantage.





Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in road/highway design and engineering.

Strong experience in highway geometric design and alignment.

Experience in Highway/Expressway/State Highway/National Highway projects preferred.

Experience with PMC/consultancy projects will be an advantage.

Valuable knowledge of IRC, MoRTH, and relevant highway design standards/specifications.

Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, reports, design calculations, and technical submissions.

Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MX Road/OpenRoads or equivalent.

Strong analytical, technical review, coordination, and communication skills.

Freelance / Consultant basis

Engagement may be part-time, project-based, or on-call, depending on project requirements.

Scope and duration will be mutually agreed based on the project.

Compensation will be discussed based on experience, expertise, scope of work, and level of involvement.

Remote working can be considered, with site/client meetings or visits as required.
