About the Role

Xylium Global Services is looking for an experienced Java Developer to design, build, and support scalable microservices and backend systems. You will work across the full stack of a modern Spring Boot ecosystem — from APIgateways and data persistence to observability and messaging — building resilient, production-grade services for our platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java 21 (OpenJDK) and Spring Boot.
- Build and manage API routing, security, and traffic control using Spring Cloud Gateway.
- Develop data access layers with Spring Data JPA across relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Implement structured, environment-aware logging using Logback.
- Design and integrate event-driven, asynchronous workflows using Apache Kafka.
- Implement full-text and log search capabilities using OpenSearch.
- Use Redis for caching, session management, and improving application performance.
- Set up and consume monitoring and observability pipelines using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and
- OpenTelemetry.
- Integrate object storage solutions using MinIO for file and document handling.
- Configure and troubleshoot transactional email delivery via SMTP.
- Develop and debug applications using Spring Tool Suite




- Deploy and manage applications on Apache Tomcat.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) to deliver features on schedule.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Solid proficiency in Java 21 (OpenJDK) and Spring Boot framework.
- Practical experience with Spring Cloud Gateway for API gateway/routing configurations.
- Solid understanding of Spring Data JPA and ORM concepts.
- Experience with Logback for application logging and log management.
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka for producer/consumer messaging patterns.
- Experience with relational databases: MS SQL Server, Oracle, and/or MySQL.
- Familiarity with OpenSearch (or Elasticsearch) for indexing and search.
- Hands-on experience with Redis for caching and data structures.
- Exposure to observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and/or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience integrating object storage systems such as MinIO.
- Understanding of SMTP-based email integration.
- Comfortable working with Spring Tool Suite (STS 4.0) as an IDE.
- Experience deploying and configuring applications on Apache Tomcat.
- Good understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

- Exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Understanding of security best practices (OAuth2/JWT).
