Company Description Brown Dot Collaborative is a multidisciplinary, experimental design studio that explores the intersections of play, well-being, and conscious design. The studio works across spatial design, learning tools, and everyday objects, creating intentional and collaborative experiences that often embrace unconventional ideas. Each project is grounded in deep listening, sensitivity to materials, and a passion for connecting unexpected dots.

From interiors shaped by natural materials to inclusive games and mental health tools, the work is driven by curiosity and co-creation. The studio collaborates with artists, craftspeople, educators, and thinkers to design playful, thoughtful, and grounded experiences that encourage people to pause, reflect, and engage with the world differently.

Role Description As an Interior Design Intern at Brown Dot Collaborative, you will support the design team in developing interior concepts, layouts, and material palettes for a range of conscious and playful spaces. This full-time, on-site role in Mumbai involves assisting with space planning, preparing drawings and presentations, sourcing and documenting furniture and FF&E;, and coordinating with vendors and craftspeople. You will help create mood boards, participate in client and internal discussions, and contribute to design research focused on well-being, inclusivity, and material sensitivity.

The intern will also assist in site visits, measurements, quality checks, and project documentation,



while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary studio team.

Requirements

- Ability to work on Space Planning and Interior Design tasks, including layouts, zoning, and basic technical drawings.
- Strong Communication skills for collaborating with team members, craftspeople, and vendors, and presenting design ideas clearly.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar) is beneficial.
- Keen interest in playful, experimental, and well-being-oriented design, with attention to detail and materials.
- Ability to work in office in Mumbai, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a studio environment.
- Strong design thinking and curiosity across disciplines
- Attention to detail and human experience
- Initiative, organisation and willingness to collaborate, learn, take responsibility
- Ability to coordinate+manage projects both on and off site. And work/deliver under pressure.
- Open to work on different kinds of projects - interiors, products, furniture and across typologies
- Has their own system and can get it to work
