About the Role

Techjays is an AI engineering and technology consulting firm headquartered in Menlo Park, California, with delivery teams in Coimbatore and Chennai, India.

We are setting up a managed operations team in India to support a US-based B2B SaaS CRM platform. The platform runs on physical servers in a colocation data center rather than on a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

The data center provider handles hardware break-fix support, while our team owns day-to-day operations, including infrastructure and platform administration, security and releases, and SQL Server databases.

As Manager – Infrastructure and Platform Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the availability, stability, and health of the platform's infrastructure. You will oversee the day-to-day administration of servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and monitoring; manage incidents through root cause analysis and resolution; and serve as the primary operational contact for the client and the data center provider.

You will also lead the operations team supporting this engagement, with the Lead – Infrastructure Security and Release Operations reporting to you. Your responsibilities will include setting priorities, managing the on-call schedule, reporting on uptime and incidents, and ensuring operational processes and activities are properly documented.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the day-to-day administration of production and non-production infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, VMware virtualization, storage, and networking.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting,

and dashboards to identify and address issues proactively, before they affect customers.
- Lead incident response for infrastructure and platform issues, conduct post-incident reviews, and track corrective actions through to closure.
- Manage backups and disaster recovery, including regular restore testing and disaster recovery exercises.
- Coordinate with the colocation provider on hardware replacements, remote-hands requests, and planned power and network maintenance.
- Plan capacity for compute, storage, and network resources, and proactively track hardware and software licence renewals.
- Manage the on-call rotation, shift handovers, and weekly status reporting to the client.
- Maintain operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, asset inventories, and configuration records.
- Work closely with the Infrastructure Security and Release Operations Lead and the Database Administrator (DBA) on maintenance windows, upgrades, and cross-team changes.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and implement infrastructure as code where appropriate.

Must-Have Requirements

- 15+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems operations, including at least 3 years leading an operations team or managed services engagement.

- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware vSphere, along with working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience operating production systems in a colocation or on-premises data center workplace.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including switching, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and TLS.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Prometheus/Grafana.
- Experience managing incidents, problems, and change management processes for production services.
- Willingness to work hours that overlap with US Pacific business hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to report to and collaborate with US-based client stakeholders.
