About the Role A reputed engineering solutions company in Bangalore, is looking for a detail-oriented HVAC Costing & Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive techno-commercial proposals for HVAC projects. You will study drawings and tender documents, prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs, source vendor quotations, and support the sales and projects teams in winning and executing projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Study tender documents, specifications, BOQs and HVAC drawings to understand project scope
- Prepare quantity take-offs for ducting, piping, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, ventilation, insulation and controls
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs and price bids covering material, labour, installation, testing and commissioning
- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate, and prepare comparative statements
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and coordinate with design and sales teams on technical clarifications
- Maintain a rate database and keep material and labour rates updated as per market trends




- Support value engineering and cost optimisation while maintaining technical compliance
- Prepare budgetary estimates for enquiries and revised estimates for variations and change orders
- Coordinate with the projects team on estimate handover and cost-control inputs after order finalisation
- Maintain documentation and records of estimates, offers and submissions

Requirements

- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in HVAC costing and estimation (MEP / HVAC contracting or manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, ducting and piping works, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings and perform accurate take-offs
- Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, lookups, cost sheets); working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
- Valuable understanding of material specifications, market rates and vendor sourcing
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage time and meet tender deadlines

Preferred

- Experience with commercial, industrial, cleanroom or data centre HVAC projects
- Familiarity with estimation or take-off software
