Job Overview

D E V Vidyalaya is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Department (HOD) – Sports to lead the school's sports and physical education programme. The candidate will be responsible for developing sports strategies, managing the sports department, promoting physical fitness, and encouraging students to participate in sports and extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership, coaching, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Sports Department, ensuring effective planning and execution of sports activities.
- Develop annual sports plans, training schedules, and physical education programmes in alignment with school objectives.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide sports teachers and coaches to ensure quality training and performance.
- Organise inter-house, inter-school, and intramural sports competitions, tournaments, and annual sports events.
- Identify talented students and provide opportunities for advanced coaching and competitive participation.
- Ensure the proper maintenance, availability, and safe use of sports equipment, playgrounds, and sports facilities.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students.
- Monitor students' participation and performance,



maintaining records of achievements and progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and appropriate supervision during sports activities.
- Coordinate with school management, teachers, parents, and external sports organisations for sports-related initiatives.
- Manage the sports department's budget, equipment procurement, and resource allocation.
- Organise fitness assessments, sports workshops, and training programmes for students and staff as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed.) or a relevant discipline.
- Relevant sports coaching certifications will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of sports administration, coaching techniques, and physical education practices.

Skills Required
- Leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Solid coaching, mentoring, and event management skills.
- Ability to motivate students and manage multiple sports activities.

Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sports education, coaching, or sports administration, preferably with leadership experience in a school.

Job Location: D E V Vidyalaya, Sikar, Rajasthan.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
