Role & responsibilities

- Responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS coding classification system in accordance with coding rules and regulations
- Abstract required clinical information
- Have thorough knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, pharmacology, Medicares Inpatient
- Prospective Payment System (IPPS), Official Coding Guidelines for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, and documentation requirements for correct and accurate coding
- Maintain standard industry productivity rates for Inpatient coding (2.5 to 3 charts/hour)
- Demonstrate ability to maintain high quality standards of 95% or greater
- Proficient in utilizing technology (Encoder, CAC, MS Office, EMRs) to perform responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

- Robust domain knowledge in Denials
- Have thorough knowledge of medical anatomy, physiology and Medical terminology. Official Coding Guidelines

for ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS for correct and accurate coding. Hiring for E&M; IP / OP Medical Coders and Quality Analyst

Job Summary:

We are hiring certified and experienced E&M; Inpatient (IP) Coders with strong knowledge of evaluation and management coding guidelines and documentation review.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate E&M; codes for inpatient services

Review medical records and validate documentation

Ensure proper level selection based on MDM guidelines

Follow ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards

Perform coding audits and handle coding edits

Support denial analysis and resolution

Maintain compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of E&M; Inpatient coding

Good understanding of medical terminology and anatomy

Familiarity with payer-specific guidelines

Experience in handling coding edits

Good communication skills
