Role Overview

Jain Machine Tools, an authorised distributor of motors, pumps and gearboxes, is looking for an experienced Purchase Head to lead its procurement function. The role will be critical in ensuring product availability, competitive purchase pricing, optimal inventory levels and efficient working capital management in a high-volume, price-sensitive business.

The candidate will work directly with the Owner and take end-to-end ownership of purchase planning and procurement decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Procurement: Plan and execute purchases based on sales forecasts, market demand, stock levels and business priorities.
- Price & Cost Management: Track price fluctuations, negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers, and secure competitive commercial terms.
- Inventory Planning: Ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess inventory, dead stock and working capital blockage.
- Supplier Management: Build solid relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, product availability and reliable supply.
- Demand & Supply Coordination: Work closely with Sales, Accounts, Warehouse and Operations to align purchasing decisions with business requirements.
- Purchase Analytics: Establish systems for purchase planning, stock monitoring, supplier performance,



price trends and purchase budgets.
- Team & Process Management: Build a systematic, data-driven procurement function with clear processes, controls and accountability.

Candidate Profile

- Minimum 10 years of experience in purchase and procurement, preferably in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in motors, pumps, gearboxes, industrial equipment, engineering products or a similar distribution business is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturer and supplier networks, pricing dynamics, inventory planning and commercial negotiations.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions, ensure product availability and optimise inventory investment.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation and team leadership skills.
- Ability to take ownership of the entire purchase function and work directly with the business owner.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
