Position: Quality Head

Location: Seetharampur Plant, Rangareddy, Telangana

Industry: Electric Bus / Commercial Vehicle Manufacturing

Experience: 25 + Years

Role Overview The Quality Head will lead the overall quality function for the manufacturing plant, driving quality strategy, customer satisfaction, supplier quality, process excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role will be responsible for building a strong quality culture and achieving zero-defect, zero-customer-complaint and right-first-time objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and execute the plant quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead Incoming, In-Process, Final and Customer Quality functions.
- Drive zero-defect and continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Quality Assurance & Process Control

- Establish robust quality systems across manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and applicable automotive standards.
- Drive standardization of quality processes, procedures and documentation.

3. Customer Quality

- Manage customer-specific quality requirements including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and 8D.
- Lead customer complaint resolution, RCA, CAPA and warranty-quality improvement.
- Ensure strong customer quality performance and timely closure of concerns.

4. Supplier Quality

- Lead supplier quality development and performance improvement.
- Drive supplier audits, incoming quality improvement and corrective actions.
- Establish supplier quality KPIs and development plans.

5. Process Quality & Continuous Improvement

- Improve process capability, reduce variation, rejection, rework and defects.
- Implement Six Sigma, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, MSA and Lean Quality practices.




- Promote prevention-based quality rather than inspection-based quality.

6. Audits & Compliance

- Lead internal, customer and certification audits.
- Ensure closure of audit findings within defined timelines.
- Maintain quality certifications, systems and statutory documentation.

7. Cost of Quality

- Monitor and reduce COPQ, scrap, rejection, rework, warranty and customer-return costs.
- Establish quality dashboards and monitor key plant quality KPIs.

8. Team Leadership

- Build and develop a high-performing quality organization.
- Coach quality managers and engineers on automotive quality systems and problem-solving tools.
- Drive capability development, succession planning and performance management.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, bus, EV or large vehicle manufacturing is strongly preferred.

Key Competencies

- Strong knowledge of IATF/ISO Quality Management Systems
- APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA and 8D
- Root Cause Analysis and CAPA
- Customer & Supplier Quality Management
- Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and Poka-Yoke
- Quality KPI and COPQ management
- Strong leadership, analytical and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates with solid OEM commercial vehicle / bus manufacturing quality experience, particularly in Incoming Quality, Process Quality, Customer Quality and Supplier Quality, will be preferred. Exposure to EV manufacturing and high-voltage/electrical systems quality will be an added advantage.
