Welfin is now recruiting Freelance RAG Specialist for its office at Salt Lake Sector - V, Kolkata, West Bengal.

About the Project

We are scaling an enterprise-grade AI WealthTech and InsurTech platform centred around Capt. Finu, an intelligent advisory agent. We are looking for a specialist RAG Engineer to design and optimise multi-namespace retrieval pipelines across financial and insurance datasets, including mutual funds, stocks, health, life and motor insurance, and partner playbooks.

What You’ll Build

· Multi-Namespace Vector Stores: Architect isolated vector indexes using pgvector and/or ChromaDB to support secure, domain-specific retrieval.

· Advanced Ingestion & Chunking: Build robust parsing and ingestion pipelines for complex financial tables, PDF policy wordings, and web-scraped content.

· Hybrid Search & Reranking: Implement semantic and keyword retrieval with cross-encoder rerankers to improve relevance and reduce unsupported model responses.





· Evaluation & Handoff: Set up a practical RAG evaluation harness and deliver clean, documented Python code for integration with our FastAPI / LangGraph backend.

What We’re Looking For

· Demonstrated experience building production-grade RAG systems using Python, LangChain and/or LlamaIndex, and vector databases.

· Strong understanding of chunking strategies, hybrid search, retrieval evaluation, and reranking models.

· Experience working with dense, text-heavy financial, legal, or insurance documentation.

· Ability to work independently as a freelancer and deliver against clearly defined milestones.
