Engineer - Water Membrane Fabrication Systems (RD Team). Department: Research Development (RD). Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Industry: Water Treatment / Advanced Materials / Membrane Technology.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer - Water Membrane Fabrication Systems to join our RD team. The role involves the design, development, fabrication, testing, and optimization of advanced membrane-based water purification and filtration systems. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for industrial, municipal, and specialty water treatment applications.

Requirements

- MSc, MTech, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in membrane fabrication and development.
- Solid understanding of membrane transport phenomena, filtration mechanisms, and separation science.
- Experience working with nanomaterials, particularly carbon nanotubes, graphene, or other advanced materials.
- Proficiency in membrane characterization techniques, including SEM, TEM, AFM, Raman Spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, BET Surface Area Analysis.
- Experience in water treatment, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, or desalination technologies.
- Ability to design and conduct membrane performance testing, including water flux measurements, salt rejection testing, contaminant removal studies, fouling and cleaning assessments,



long-term durability testing.
- Knowledge of polymer science, composite materials, and surface functionalization techniques.
- Experience with SWCNT dispersion, coating, casting, or membrane fabrication processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with analytical and laboratory equipment for materials characterization and water quality analysis.
- Strong data analysis skills using software such as Origin, MATLAB, Python, JMP, or similar tools.
- Experience scaling laboratory processes toward pilot-scale or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan experiments, analyze results, and optimize membrane performance.
- Strong scientific writing skills with experience preparing technical reports, publications, patents, or customer-facing technical documentation.

Preferred Expertise

- Single-Wall Carbon Nanotube (SWCNT) membrane development.
- Water purification and desalination systems.
- Nanoporous material design.
- Electrochemical water treatment technologies.
- Surface chemistry and membrane functionalization.
- Startup, product development, or commercialization experience.
