: Electrical Design Engineer – Jigs & Fixtures

Department: Design / Engineering Industry: Jigs, Fixtures, Tooling & Industrial Automation Experience: 2–5 years (customizable) Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Job Responsibilities

1. Electrical Design & Development

- Design electrical circuits for jigs, fixtures, assembly stations, and special-purpose machines.
- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and cable routing drawings.
- Develop electrical designs based on customer specifications and project requirements.

1. PLC & Control Systems

- Select and integrate PLCs, sensors, relays, contactors, solenoid valves, and other electrical components.
- Support PLC I/O mapping, interlock logic, and sequence control for jig and fixture operations.
- Interface with PLC engineers for machine control and automation integration.

1. Component Selection & BOM

- Select suitable electrical components based on technical specifications and operating conditions.
- Prepare electrical Bill of Materials (BOM), cable schedules, terminal plans, and component specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement for component availability and technical clarification.

1. Electrical Panel & Wiring

- Design control panels, junction boxes, and electrical distribution systems.
- Prepare wiring layouts and support panel assembly, wiring, and installation.
- Ensure proper cable sizing, grounding, circuit protection, and electrical safety.

1. Jigs & Fixtures Integration

- Design electrical interfaces for clamping systems, proximity sensors, pneumatic fixtures, and poka-yoke devices.
- Integrate sensors and actuators for part detection, positioning verification, and process monitoring.
- Support fixture automation, assembly line integration, and error-proofing systems.

Testing & Commissioning

- Conduct electrical continuity checks, I/O testing, and functional validation.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults during machine trials, installation, and commissioning.
- Support customer-site installation, acceptance testing, and production handover.

1. Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and maintain electrical drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Follow applicable electrical safety standards and customer-specific engineering requirements.
- Maintain revision control and incorporate design changes based on project feedback.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with mechanical design, PLC programming, manufacturing, assembly, and quality teams.
- Work with customers to understand technical requirements and resolve design-related issues.
- Support project execution within agreed timelines, cost targets, and quality requirements.

Required Technical Skills
- Electrical schematic design and control panel design.
- Knowledge of PLC systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Delta, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with sensors, relays, contactors, solenoid valves, and pneumatic control circuits.
- Knowledge of electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Understanding of PLC I/O interfacing, wiring, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of industrial automation, assembly fixtures, poka-yoke, and safety interlocks.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
