Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer – Mechanical with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development. The candidate will be responsible for concept development, detailed engineering, prototype development, and design validation for mechanical systems. The ideal candidate should have strong CAD skills, sound engineering fundamentals, and the ability to convert technical requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop mechanical concepts, detailed designs, and engineering drawings for components, assemblies, and mechanical systems.
- Perform engineering calculations related to structural loads, stress, mechanical strength, and design feasibility.
- Develop prototypes and support functional testing, design verification, and product validation.
- Select appropriate engineering materials, manufacturing methods, and fabrication processes.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and GD&T; specifications.




- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
- Coordinate with fabrication, production, electronics, and other R&D; teams for system integration and design implementation.
- Identify design issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement engineering improvements.
- Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, vendor coordination, and field visits when required.
- Maintain design documentation, revision records, and technical reports.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience with CAD modelling, assembly design, detailed engineering drawings, and component design.
- Understanding mechanical design calculations.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience with prototype development, testing, and design validation.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, casting, forging, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
- Understanding material selection, heat treatment, tooling, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve design and fabrication challenges.

Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. or M.Tech / M.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development.
- Experience in product engineering, mechanical assemblies, prototype development, and manufacturing documentation.
