Job Title: Database Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Database Developer with strong expertise in SQL development, database design, query optimization, and data management. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience developing database objects, optimizing query performance, designing scalable database structures, and supporting data migration and integration activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Design and Architecture

- Design and develop database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
- Apply database normalization techniques to minimize data redundancy.
- Design scalable and efficient database structures.
- Document database models and architecture.

2. SQL Development

- Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Write complex SQL queries using joins, subqueries, aggregations, and other advanced SQL features.
- Optimize SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency.
- Implement constraints and validation rules to maintain data integrity.

3. Database Performance Optimization

- Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain indexes for efficient query execution.
- Analyze execution plans and perform query tuning.
- Monitor database resource utilization, including CPU, memory, and I/O.

4. Data Migration and ETL

- Perform data migration between databases and systems.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data transformation workflows.
- Cleanse, transform, and validate data.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

5. Database Maintenance and Support

- Support database backup and recovery activities.
- Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
- Apply database patches and updates as required.
- Manage database capacity planning and access controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues.

6. Security and Compliance

- Implement database security measures, access controls, and encryption.
- Monitor and audit database access.




- Ensure appropriate handling of sensitive data and compliance with applicable regulations.

7. Testing and Quality Assurance

- Perform unit testing of database objects, procedures, and functions.
- Validate data integrity and consistency.
- Conduct performance testing for queries and database procedures.
- Collaborate with QA teams to support testing activities.

8. Version Control and Deployment

- Maintain database scripts using version control tools such as Git.
- Manage database schema changes across development, testing, and production environments.
- Support database deployments and migration processes.
- Follow database change management and deployment best practices.

9. Monitoring and Reporting

- Configure database monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Track database performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop database reports and operational dashboards as required.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
- Experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Strong understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, and relational data modeling.
- Experience in performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data migration, and data validation.
- Familiarity with Git and database version control practices.
- Understanding of database security, backup, and recovery concepts.
- Exposure to cloud database services such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with application developers, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Valuable documentation and communication skills.

Note: We are looking for a hands-on Database Developer with strong SQL development and database engineering skills, rather than a profile focused exclusively on database administration. Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
