About the Role

Pratham Software is looking for a Data Engineer with strong skills in Python, PySpark and Databricks SQL. You will design and build reliable data pipelines, transform large datasets, and make clean, trusted data available for analytics, reporting and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable ETL / ELT pipelines using Python and PySpark

Develop and optimise data workflows, notebooks and jobs on the Databricks platform

Write efficient, well-structured Databricks SQL queries for transformation, analysis and reporting

Ingest data from multiple sources such as databases, APIs, files and streaming systems

Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses using Delta Lake and lakehouse practices

Ensure data quality, validation, security and governance across pipelines

Tune the performance and cost of Spark jobs and queries

Monitor pipelines,



troubleshoot failures and resolve data issues quickly

Work with analysts, data scientists and business teams to understand data needs

Document data models, pipelines and processes

Requirements

B.Tech in Computer Science, IT or a related field (MCA considered in rare cases for strong profiles)

3-6 years of experience in data engineering

Strong programming skills in Python

Hands-on experience with PySpark and distributed data processing

Good working knowledge of Databricks, including Databricks SQL, Delta Lake and job orchestration

Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling and warehousing concepts

Experience with a cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP) and its data services is preferred

Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Azure Data Factory is a plus

Valuable problem-solving and communication skills
