Job title: Community and Social Media Intern

Workplace type and hours: Hybrid, 2.5 hours a day

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Job type: Internship

Experience level: Entry level

Description

Want to make a difference in climate action through science and technology?

RenewCred is a Global South-led carbon credits standard and registry building trust infrastructure for the voluntary carbon market. We develop rigorous climate methodologies, operate a transparent registry, and use proprietary digital systems to enable faster, data-backed assurance and issuance of carbon credits.. Around the Standard sit our digital MRV platform (the software that measures and verifies what a project actually achieves), the RenewCred Climate Academy and the Carbon17 Science Fellowship.

We are growing our community and looking for a Community and Social Media Intern to help us spread the word, spark conversations and bring more people into the climate action movement.

About the role

This is a 5 month internship in Bengaluru, run as a defined project with its own goals. You will work directly with the founders and with our strategy and marketing partners, and you will own what you build.

What you will do

- Grow RenewCred’s presence on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube: plan, write, design and post.
- Help run our community: The Optimists (our open climate community), the Carbon17 fellows and the Climate Academy learners.
- Create content that people want to read and share: posts, short videos, visuals, explainers and coverage of the events we speak at and host.
- Track what works, learn from what does not,

and bring that back into the next set of ideas.
- Experiment, learn and bring your own ideas to the table.

Who we are looking for

- Someone who gets social media and loves making things happen.
- Curious about climate action and carbon markets. No prior knowledge of carbon credits needed; we will teach you.
- Writes clearly in English. Comfort with Canva or similar design tools is a plus.
- Organised and reliable, able to take an idea from a brief to a published post without being chased.
- This is an entry level role. Students currently in college and recent graduates are welcome to apply. You do not need to know everything already. Enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to learn go a long way.

Location, duration and what comes next

- Bengaluru only. Applicants must be based in Bengaluru for the full 5 months. We are not considering remote or out of city applications for this role.
- 5 months, starting as soon as we find the right person.
- There is a real possibility of a permanent role at the end of the project, depending on how the project goes and what the team needs at that point. We cannot guarantee it.

How to apply

Apply through LinkedIn or via email at [email protected], with your CV and links to anything you have made or run: a page, an account, a community, a campaign, a newsletter. A few lines on why climate, and why now, help us more than a long cover letter.
