Role & responsibilities

Statutory & Regulatory Approvals and Compliance

Coordinate and obtain all required statutory and regulatory approvals for mining projects, including Forest, Setting, Mining Lease, Mining Plan, Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), explosives licences/permissions, State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) consents and other applicable clearances.

Mining Project Planning, Execution & Monitoring

Plan, manage and monitor mining project development and execution, ensuring adherence to approved schedules, budgets, quality standards and operational requirements.

Annual Operating Plans, Budgeting & Cost Control

Prepare annual operating plans, budgets and cost estimates; monitor expenditure, identify cost-optimization opportunities and implement effective cost-control measures.

Government Liaisoning & Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with relevant government departments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders at both State and Central Government levels to facilitate project approvals and implementation.

MDO Selection, Appointment & Performance Monitoring

Evaluate, select and coordinate the appointment of a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO), as applicable, and monitor performance against agreed contractual and operational deliverables.

Overall Mine Development, Operations & P&L; Management

Take overall responsibility for mine development and operations, with a focus on operational efficiency,



statutory compliance, productivity and profitability; monitor and manage the mines Profit and Loss (P&L;) performance.

Statutory Licensing, Renewals & Regulatory Documentation

Ensure timely procurement, renewal and maintenance of all statutory licences, permissions, approvals and records required for mine development and operations.

Industrial Relations & Stakeholder Management

Manage industrial relations and stakeholder engagement, maintaining constructive relationships with employees, contractors, local communities, government authorities and other relevant parties.

Pan-India Travel & Project Site Oversight

Travel across India as required for site visits, project reviews, regulatory coordination, stakeholder meetings and operational oversight

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience in the mining sector is preferred.
- Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively across India as required by the role.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi and Bengali.
- Computer Skills: Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, for reporting, analysis and presentations.
- Candidates with experience in mine development, statutory and regulatory liaison, project management, government coordination, budgeting and operational management will be preferred.
