CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)

DHANODE

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Wakad, Pune

Reporting To: Founders

Compensation: ₹8,00,000 per annum, structured as fixed plus performance-linked pay tied to agreed revenue and operational targets.

Equity: May be considered based on sustained performance, contribution,

and long-term commitment, subject to mutually agreed terms.

ABOUT DHANODE

DHANODE is an early-stage technology company building an AI-first CRM application for businesses across industries.

We are looking for a senior, commercially driven leader to own the complete business engine — sales, revenue operations, customer retention, and day-to-day execution. This is an opportunity to work directly with the founders, build the company's operating systems from the ground up, and grow into the leadership of the business.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Chief Operating Officer, you will own everything between the product and the revenue: how leads become customers, how customers stay and grow, and how the company runs every day.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a corner-office role. In the early phase you will personally drive enterprise and SMB sales cycles — prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, negotiation and closure — while simultaneously building the CRM discipline, sales processes, forecasting, and retention systems that make revenue repeatable and predictable.

As the business grows, you will hire, train, and lead the sales,

operations, and customer success teams, and run the company's day-to-day while the founders focus on product and vision.

The role requires someone who has done all three in their career:

closed deals personally, built sales operations and CRM systems,

and led teams to retention and expansion numbers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Revenue Ownership & Sales Leadership

- Own the company's revenue number — new sales, renewals, and

expansion — and be accountable for it every month.
- Personally lead enterprise and SMB sales cycles end to end:

prospecting, discovery, product demonstrations, consultative selling, proposals, commercial negotiation, and deal closure.
- Build a qualified pipeline through direct outreach, referrals,

channel partnerships, and professional networks.
- Define the GTM strategy — which segments to sell to, at what

price, through which channels — and adjust it based on what the data shows.
- Apply structured qualification (BANT, MEDDIC or equivalent) so

the pipeline reflects reality,

not hope.
1. Sales Operations & Process Discipline

- Set up and own CRM discipline: every lead, deal, stage, and

next step recorded accurately, with no deal living in memory.
- Build the sales process — stages, qualification criteria,

quotes, proposals, pricing rules — so any new hire can follow it.
- Own sales forecasting and pipeline reviews, and deliver

realistic revenue forecasts to the founders, not inflated ones.
- Create dashboards and reports that show spend, pipeline,

conversion, revenue, and collections at a glance.
- Identify stale deals, funnel leaks, and process gaps, and fix

them before they cost revenue.
1. Customer Retention, Adoption & Expansion

- Own onboarding and adoption so paying customers actually use the

product and reach their business objectives.
- Track account health, spot churn risk early, and run structured

remediation plans before a customer leaves.
- Run regular account and business reviews, and grow accounts

through renewals, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Translate customer feedback into clear, prioritized

recommendations for the product and technical teams.
- Develop referrals, testimonials, and customer success stories

that feed back into sales.
1. Company Operations & Team Building

- Translate founder priorities into weekly and monthly execution

plans with clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Run the operating rhythm of the company: reviews, reporting,

escalations, and cross-team coordination between sales, marketing, and the technical team.
- Maintain visibility into revenue, collections, operating

expenses, and outstanding customer issues.
- Make day-to-day decisions within agreed authority and escalate

material issues promptly.
- Define hiring priorities, then recruit, onboard, train, and lead

the sales, operations, and customer success teams as the business scales.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for a leader with:
- 10+ years across B2B software, SaaS, or technology sales and

operations, with time spent in early-stage or resource- constrained environments.

- A demonstrable personal track record of generating pipeline,

closing deals, and growing revenue — numbers you can show, not team numbers you sat near.
- Hands-on command of CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or

similar): pipeline design, data hygiene, forecasting, reporting, and workflow automation — set up personally, not delegated.
- Proven experience in retention and account expansion: reducing

churn, driving adoption, and growing existing accounts.
- Experience building and leading small teams — hiring, training,

reviewing, and holding people to targets.
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skill, and the ability

to set customer expectations the product can actually meet.
- The discipline to work independently, run many threads at once,

and remain accountable for outcomes, not activity.
- Comfort with a compensation structure where a meaningful part of

earnings is linked to performance. Experience selling or operating CRM or SaaS products for small and medium-sized businesses will be a strong advantage.

SUCCESS MEASURES

Performance will be assessed against mutually agreed objectives,

including:

- Revenue generated — new clients, renewals, and expansion.
- Forecast accuracy and pipeline conversion.
- Customer retention, adoption, and reduction in churn.
- Timely collections and reliability of daily operations.
- Quality of processes, reporting, and the team built.

Specific targets will be agreed with the founders based on business priorities, available resources, and the company's starting position.

WHAT DHANODE OFFERS

- Ownership of the complete business engine of a growing AI-first

product.
- Direct collaboration with the founders and a real voice in

company decisions.
- A compensation structure where robust performance directly

increases earnings.
- Potential equity participation based on sustained contribution

and long-term commitment, subject to mutually agreed terms.
- The opportunity to build and lead the full business team as

DHANODE grows.

HOW TO APPLY

Share your CV along with a brief example of a business you helped run or grow — the revenue you personally generated, the processes or systems you built, and the team you led.

Please highlight the business context, your specific contribution,

and measurable results achieved.
