Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Senior Cloud Engineer to join our delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing at certain extend, building, and operating scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS for our enterprise clients. You will work alongside Solutions Architects and delivery leads to implement cloud solutions, execute migrations, and maintain production environments while following AWS best practices and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Design & Implementation

• Deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and security components

• Implement highly available and fault-tolerant architectures across multiple availability zones and regions

• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK

• Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, security groups, NACLs, route tables, NAT gateways, and VPN/Direct Connect connectivity

• Provision and manage compute resources (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda) with appropriate auto-scaling configurations

• Set up and manage storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS, FSx) with lifecycle policies and replication strategies

Migration & Deployment

• Execute cloud migration activities including server replication, database migration, and application cutover

• Operate AWS migration tools such as Application Migration Service (MGN), Database Migration Service (DMS), and DataSync

• Perform pre-migration tasks including infrastructure discovery, dependency mapping, and readiness assessments

• Plan and execute migration waves with minimal downtime following established runbooks

• Conduct post-migration validation, performance testing, and optimization

Automation & DevOps

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or third-party tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes

• Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for operational tasks

• Implement containerization strategies using Docker and orchestration with ECS/EKS

• Manage configuration drift detection and remediation across environments

Monitoring, Security & Operations

• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config,



and third-party tools

• Configure and manage AWS security services — IAM policies, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Inspector

• Conduct security hardening of cloud resources following CIS benchmarks and AWS security best practices

• Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures

• Manage backup and disaster recovery strategies using AWS Backup, cross-region replication, and automated failover

• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production issues within defined SLAs

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with Solutions Architects to translate architecture designs into deployed infrastructure

• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services

• Create and maintain technical documentation including runbooks, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles

• Participate in peer code reviews for IaC templates and automation scripts

• Support pre-sales and solutioning activities with effort estimation and technical input

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Experience: 4–6 years of hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services in production environments

• AWS Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate (required); AWS SysOps Administrator or DevOps Engineer – Associate preferred

- Core AWS Services:

– Compute: EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Auto Scaling, Elastic Beanstalk

– Storage: S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, Storage Gateway, Glacier

– Networking: VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53, CloudFront, ELB/ALB/NLB, PrivateLink

– Database: RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle), Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache

– Security: IAM, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager

– Management: CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, AWS Config, Trusted Advisor

– Migration: Application Migration Service (MGN), DMS, DataSync, Transfer Family

– Containers: ECR, ECS, EKS, Fargate

• Infrastructure as Code: Strong proficiency in Terraform (preferred) and/or AWS CloudFormation/CDK

• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell for automation and operational tasks

• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools — Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline

• Containers & Orchestration: Working experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and container deployment strategies

• Operating Systems: Strong Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) and Windows Server administration skills

• Networking:



Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing, firewalls, and VPN technologies

On-Premises & Hybrid Knowledge

• Experience working with VMware vSphere/ESXi environments for migration and hybrid connectivity

• Understanding of on-premises networking concepts — VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall rules

• Familiarity with enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and backup systems

• Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity patterns (Site-to-Site VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway)

Migration Experience

• Hands-on experience executing cloud migrations (re-host, re-platform) for enterprise workloads

• Experience with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) for server replication and cutover

• Familiarity with database migration strategies and AWS DMS for heterogeneous/homogeneous migrations

• Experience with migration assessment and discovery tools (RVTools, AWS Application Discovery Service)

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional certification

• Experience with multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower

• Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns

• Experience with observability platforms (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack)

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)

• Experience with cost optimization practices and AWS Cost Explorer / Savings Plans / Reserved Instances

• Exposure to GitOps workflows and ArgoCD/Flux for Kubernetes deployments

• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (AWS App Mesh, Istio)

• Experience in a consulting or professional services workplace delivering solutions for multiple clients

• Familiarity with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for configuration management
