Job Summary The Associate - QC will support diamond and gemstone grading and quality verification, including loose-diamond size sorting, assortment, solitaire grading, CVD checking, and gemstone grading. The role ensures accurate checking, proper movement of accepted and rejected stones, reliable documentation, and adherence to defined grading standards.

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)

- Perform mm size sorting and assortment of loose diamonds.
- Grade solitaire diamonds in line with approved grading standards and internal quality requirements.
- Carry out CVD checking and record observations accurately.
- Perform size sorting and grading of gemstones.
- Verify selected diamonds and gemstones before issue to the Diamond Issue department.
- Segregate rejected diamonds and gemstones and return them to Inventory with proper acknowledgement and documentation.
- Follow uniform grading criteria to maintain accuracy and consistency in quality checks.
- Maintain clear records of stones received, graded, issued, and returned, ensuring traceability of movement.
- Ensure grading information and related reports are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Handle gemmological equipment carefully and report calibration, maintenance, or equipment issues to the concerned authority.
- Support stock verification, audits, and immediate reporting of any mismatch or discrepancy.
- Follow company procedures on security, custody, ethical handling, and quality compliance.

Requirements (What We Are Looking For)

- Qualification: Diploma / Degree / Certification in Gemmology,



Diamond Grading, Jewellery, or a related field.
- Experience: Relevant experience in diamond, gemstone grading, or jewellery quality control is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of diamond grading, gemstone grading, assortment, CVD checking, size sorting, and recognised grading standards such as GIA / IGI.
- Equipment Knowledge: Basic working knowledge of gemmological equipment such as microscopes, refractometers, and other grading / identification tools.
- Accuracy & Documentation: Solid attention to detail, record accuracy, and ability to follow SOPs, quality standards, and defined handling procedures.

- Maintain accuracy and consistency in diamond and gemstone grading, sorting, and verification.
- Complete assigned QC activities within required timelines without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate, traceable records for stones received, graded, issued, and returned.
- Minimise errors, mix-ups, and discrepancies through careful handling and verification.
- Coordinate effectively with Diamond Issue, Inventory, and relevant operational teams.
