Role Description The Associate Professor will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Physiology, conducting theory and practical classes, supervising clinical postings, and guiding students in case discussions and seminars. The role includes participation in curriculum development, exam preparation and evaluation, and adherence to national medical education standards and institutional policies.

The Associate

Professor will engage in academic research, publications, and departmental activities, as well as mentor junior faculty and residents.

Responsibilities also include contributing to patient care at the teaching hospital, supporting institutional committees,



and participating in quality improvement and accreditation-related work. This is a full time, on-site role based at SKS Medical College in Durgapur.

Qualifications

- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification (MD).
- Eligibility as per National Medical Commission (NMC) or relevant regulatory guidelines for the post of Associate Professor, including required teaching and clinical experience.
- Publications in indexed journals as required under the same regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical teaching, including classroom lectures, bedside clinics, skills training, and student mentorship.
- Proven involvement in academic research, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and participation in conferences or scientific forums.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum planning, assessment design, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to student support, structured mentorship, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Administrative and organizational abilities to participate in departmental and institutional committees and academic governance.
- Prior experience in a medical college or teaching hospital setting is highly desirable.
