About the Role The Catalyst Group is looking for an Assistant Manager/Manager – Business Development (Biogas) to drive sales of process chemicals and enzymes used in wastewater treatment and biogas production. This is a new, individual-contributor role reporting to the HOD, focused on building the company's presence in the Distilleries, Paper, and Biogas/Bio-CNG/CBG verticals through direct client engagement, techno-commercial negotiation, and market development.

What You Will Do

1. Sell process chemicals and enzymes for wastewater treatment and biogas production
2. Travel to meet customers, understand requirements, generate enquiries, and identify new opportunities
3. Coordinate with internal operating groups to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals
4. Lead techno-commercial discussions with clients through to deal closure
5.



Track and report sales and marketing activity on an agreed periodic basis
6. Analyze market trends, map competitors, and share insights with R&D; and other internal teams
7. Promote the company's products/technologies across Distilleries, Paper, and Biogas verticals
8. Support project development from the earliest stages

What We're Looking For

1. Graduate or postgraduate in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Environmental Engineering (candidates from other technical backgrounds considered only with strong, directly relevant sales experience)
2. 5-7 years of post-qualification sales/BD experience, with mandatory hands-on experience selling into the biogas/Bio-CNG/CBG vertical
3. Proven track record in sales and business development in wastewater treatment, waste management, or biogas/Bio-CNG/CBG
4. Working knowledge of water treatment practices in distilleries, sugar mills, and paper mills, biogas/Bio-CNG production from wastes like press mud, agricultural waste, distillery spent wash/process condensate, and paper industry waste, plus cooling towers and RO plants
5. Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, technologies, ZLD, and regulatory requirements
6. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events
