The AI Engineer designs, builds, and owns the AI logic that makes Infor’s Support AI platform precise at scale. This is a role for someone who is constantly learning — following what is happening in AI, experimenting with new tools and frameworks, failing fast, and bringing what works back into the platform. The technology moves fast. The right candidate moves faster. High ownership, high speed, high initiative. Identifies what needs to be built before being asked. Executes without waiting for a complete spec. Ships, learns, iterates. Quality is not a gate at the end — it is built into how this person works: evaluating outputs, testing against real cases, and continuously raising the bar on what the platform can do.

The enterprise software domain and Infor products are learnable. AI engineering depth, curiosity, and the drive to keep building are not. Works closely with the Principal AI Architect, Product AI Champions, and product teams across Support, GPS, IMS, and Development. Grading scales with depth and scope of ownership: AI Engineer, Senior AI Engineer, Principal AI Engineer.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:

- Design, Develop, and Test Product AI Logic: Writes steering files, builds product-specific agents, and develops test scripts against real cases. Iterates based on eval results and feedback. Treats AI logic as production code — versioned, tested, and regression-checked before it reaches engineers.
- Own the Product Intelligence Layer: Owns pattern store quality, KB lifecycle, and troubleshooting path capture for the assigned vertical. The platform compounds in intelligence only if the data feeding it is precise and the knowledge is current.
- Identify and Frame AI Use Cases: Identifies which problems in the product vertical AI can solve, which recurring patterns are ready for agentic resolution, and how to frame complex scenarios so the model reasons about them accurately. Shapes the build — does not wait for a spec to be handed down.
- Run Evals and Close the Feedback Loop: Runs regression tests, flags hallucinated or incorrect claims by source (code, documentation, Jiras, prior cases), retires stale patterns, and refines steering based on evidence. When the AI is wrong for the product vertical, finds it, traces it, and fixes it.
- Enable Champions and Drive Adoption: Supports Champions in the product community — validates their steering contributions, helps frame use cases, and advocates for the platform as a visible practitioner. Peer influence within the product community is as important as the technical contribution.
- Collaborate Across the Organization: Works with GPS, IMS, and Development teams, contributes to the cross-functional Champions forum, and bears in mind the AI initiatives that extend beyond the immediate product vertical.
- Stay Current and Evolve: The platform evolves continuously — new steering capabilities, new agent patterns, new MCP sources. Keeps pace, experiments with new approaches, and brings relevant advances back to the product vertical.

Basic Qualifications:

- Technical depth — strong programming ability in a scripting language (e.g., Python). Comfortable reading code, debugging, and building scripts and automation.



Familiarity with version control tools such as Git. Does not need to have shipped AI systems but needs the engineering foundation to learn and apply them fast.
- AI fluency — understands how LLMs work, what context engineering is, and why retrieval quality matters. Has experimented with AI tools and built things — even if not in a formal production environment. Curiosity and initiative in this space are the signal.
- Design orientation — thinks about how AI output will be consumed by a human. Considers the full experience: problem framing, what the engineer sees, what they trust, what they act on. Not just technically correct — usable and precise.
- Problem solver and solution builder — identifies what needs to be built before being asked. High ownership. Moves from problem to proposal to execution without waiting for a complete spec.
- Evaluation mindset — thinks about how to know whether something is working. Writes test cases, validates outputs, and iterates based on evidence rather than assumption.
- Speed and accountability — iterates fast, ships, learns, adjusts. Takes full ownership of their vertical and treats velocity as a professional standard.
- Curiosity and appetite to learn— enterprise software, Infor products, and support domain knowledge are learnable. The right candidate has the initiative and genuine drive to develop them. Asks more questions than they answer. Brings ideas from outside into the team. Domain curiosity is as significant as technical ability.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience building agents, RAG systems, or LLM applications LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent. Even exploratory or side-project work counts.
- Context engineering and steering logic has written and iterated on structured AI instructions for a specific domain or use case.
- Retrieval architecture familiarity — vector databases, hybrid search, embedding models. Knows the difference between good and bad retrieval.
- Eval tooling experience — Promptfoo, RAGAS, Braintrust, or equivalent. Has designed test cases or golden datasets.
- Enterprise software background — ERP, WFM, WMS, supply chain, finance, or logistics. Understanding of how these systems work and fail in production.
- Technical support, SRE, or solutions engineering experience — knows how enterprise software breaks and what good troubleshooting looks like.
- Direct experience with Kiro or comparable AI-IDE tooling in a support or engineering context.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent demonstrated capability accepted.
