Job Objective:

To lead the overall Finance & Accounts function of a 300 KLPD ethanol manufacturing plant at Gopalganj, Bihar, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, statutory compliance, working capital management and financial discipline. The role oversees accounting operations, taxation, budgeting, audits, plant costing and financial analysis to support business profitability and operational efficiency, and reports to the Director / Senior Management.

Role & responsibilities:

- Accounts Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliation, vendor payments, customer receipts and financial records.
- Plant Costing: Monitor manufacturing costs, including grain consumption, enzymes, chemicals, steam, power, fuel, utilities and other production expenses. Analyse cost per litre of ethanol and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning: Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections. Monitor actual expenditure against budgets and report significant variances to management.
- Inventory and Stock Accounting: Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, by-products, stores and spares in coordination with Production, Stores and Commercial departments.
- Taxation and Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, TCS and other applicable statutory requirements, including accurate return filing and reconciliations.
- Audit Management: Coordinate internal, statutory and tax audits. Ensure proper documentation, timely closure of audit observations and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Working Capital Management: Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables, inventory value, banking transactions and fund requirements to maintain adequate liquidity.
- Financial Reporting and MIS: Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, plant cost reports and management MIS.
- Procurement and Commercial Coordination: Review purchase accounting,



vendor reconciliations, purchase orders, invoices, material receipts and payment terms to ensure financial control.
- Fixed Assets and Capital Expenditure: Maintain fixed asset registers, capital expenditure records, depreciation schedules and project-related accounting.
- Team Management: Lead the Accounts team, establish internal controls, allocate responsibilities and ensure accuracy and timely completion of accounting activities.
- Management Support: Provide financial analysis, profitability reports, cost variance analysis and actionable recommendations to the Director and Senior Management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial statements and MIS.
- Control over manufacturing cost per litre of ethanol.
- Timely statutory filings and tax payments.
- Effective cash flow and working capital management.
- Accuracy of inventory and raw material reconciliation.
- Timely completion of audits and closure of observations.
- Budget adherence and cost variance analysis.
- Strength of internal financial controls and accounting discipline.

Preferred candidate profile:

- CA (Chartered Accountant) preferred. CMA / ICWA or MBA in Finance may be considered based on relevant experience and expertise.
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, financial reporting and cost accounting.
- 1218 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in manufacturing or process industries.
- Experience in a senior finance role at a large-scale ethanol, distillery, grain processing, chemical or similar manufacturing plant is preferred.
- Strong exposure to plant costing, inventory accounting, GST, taxation, budgeting, audits and financial MIS.
- Experience in managing plant-level finance operations and leading an Accounts team.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and accounting software, including Tally or SAP, will be an advantage.
- Strong financial analysis, cost control, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP and financial reporting systems.
- High integrity, attention to detail and effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
