JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior 3D Animator with expertise in Blender to join our in-house animation team on a full-time, office-based basis. The ideal candidate will specialize in high-energy, expressive character animation tailored for kids' content. You will be responsible for bringing characters to life through solid body mechanics, vibrant acting, clear facial expressions, and precise lip-sync based on approved animatics and storyboards.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Character Acting & Body Mechanics

Expressive Character Acting: Bring 3D characters to life using clear, appealing,

and lively acting choices tailored for kids' content, ensuring personalities shine through every action.

Solid Body Mechanics: Execute realistic weight, balance, momentum, and body mechanics in Blender to make dynamic movements (running, jumping, tumbling,

dancing) feel natural and convincing.

2. Facial Expressions & Lip-Sync

Facial Acting & Lip-Sync: Deliver high-precision facial animations and accurate lip-sync aligned with voiceover tracks, using Blender’s Shape Keys and pose libraries for readable, relatable character emotions.

Exaggerated Expressions: Apply classic animation principles like squash-and-

stretch, anticipation,



and exaggerated facial poses to heighten comedic timing and visual appeal for young viewers.

3. Storyboard & Animatic Execution

Animatic-to-3D Translation: Accurately translate approved storyboards, audio tracks, and animatics into fully realized, engaging 3D keyframe animation sequences.

Pacing & Timing: Fine-tune motion timing, holds, and spacing in Blender’s Graph

Editor to maintain tight narrative pacing and hold young audiences' attention.

4. Technical Quality & Senior Polish

Keyframe Polish & Curve Clean-up: Clean, smooth, and polish animation curves,

resolving clipping, joint pops, and unnatural intersections prior to final delivery.

Continuity & Consistency: Maintain strict character performance, size scale, and behavioral consistency across all shots and episodes.

- Senior Collaboration & Review

Director Feedback Integration: Review work with the Animation Lead/Director,

quickly implementing feedback while keeping shots on schedule.

Mentorship & Workflow: Guide junior animators on character acting techniques and best practices inside Blender to elevate overall team performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Experience: 3+ years of professional animation experience delivering commercial-

grade visual assets (kids' content preferred).

Demo Reel: A curated portfolio showcasing advanced body mechanics, character acting,



dynamic motion, and production-quality animation shots.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Digital Arts, or equivalent practical industry experience.

KEY COMPETENCIES & TECHNICAL SKILLS

Primary Tool — Blender: Mastery of Blender’s animation toolset, including the Graph

Editor, Dope Sheet, NLA Editor, Pose Library, and Shape Keys.

Rigging Familiarity (Blender): Solid understanding of working with Blender character rigs, armatures, constraints (IK/FK switches), and drivers to troubleshoot animation issues independently.

Basic Asset & Shot Management: Working knowledge of asset linking/library overrides in Blender for managing shot files cleanly.

Body Mechanics: Showcase dynamic physical movements, weight, balance,

locomotion (walk/run cycles), jumping, or physical interactions.

Character Acting & Emotion: Include acting shots with subtle facial expressions,

clear lip-syncing, eye tracking, and distinct character personality.

Animation Principles: Demonstrate explicit application of timing, spacing, arcs,

anticipation, follow-through, and staging.

Variety: Show range across different character types (biped, quadruped, creature,

stylized kids characters).
