About the Role

AIS is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic PYP Homeroom Teacher to create engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences for primary students aged 6–10.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and facilitate transdisciplinary units of inquiry aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme.
- Develop learning experiences in accordance with the school’s grade-level scope and sequence.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive and student-centred classroom environment.
- Integrate the essential elements of the PYP into inquiry-based and constructivist learning.
- Assess student learning, maintain appropriate records and provide constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to address varied learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate regularly with teaching teams, specialist teachers and PYP leadership.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
- Support students’ social-emotional development and uphold the school’s safeguarding expectations.
- Participate actively in school events, career development and the wider AIS community.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with an appropriate teaching qualification.
- Prior primary-school teaching experience.
- Experience teaching the IB PYP is preferred.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centred learning.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners aged 6–10.
- Effective classroom-management and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding and continuous professional growth.
