An Accounting Assistant supports the finance department by performing daily data entry, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable/receivable, aiding in payroll preparation, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role typically requires proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or Excel, with strong attention to detail and, often, a relevant degree or experience. Key Responsibilities

- Data Entry & Recording : Accurately recording financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payments in ledger systems.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable : Processing invoices, verifying bill accuracy, managing vendor statements, and chasing debt.
- Reconciliation : Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies in financial data.
- Financial Reporting Support : Assisting accountants with preparing balance sheets, income statements, and budget preparation.
- Payroll Processing : Assisting with payroll,



including verifying timesheets and employee deductions.
- Administrative Tasks : Organizing financial files, managing correspondence, and responding to inquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Educational Background : An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Detail-Oriented : Exceptional accuracy in data entry and maintaining records.
- Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills for vendor and team coordination.
- Time Management : Ability to meet strict financial deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
