Job Description - Assistant Manager (Production)

Location : Palava, Ambernath, Maharashtra Department : Production Experience : 8-10 Years Qualification : B.E. Mechanical Engineering Shift : General Shift

Job Summary

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations

- Manage daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
- Supervise welding operations (MIG / TIG / ARC / Spot welding as applicable)
- Ensure adherence to production plans and minimize downtime
- Monitor machine utilization and manpower efficiency
- Implement productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives

Team Handling

- Lead and manage supervisors, welders, and shop-floor operators
- Allocate work and track individual and team performance
- Conduct training on welding processes, safety practices, and SOPs
- Manage attendance, discipline, and workforce motivation

Quality & Safety

- Ensure compliance with quality standards and process parameters
- Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections and corrective actions
- Implement safety norms, PPE usage, and 5S practices
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks

Process Improvement





- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective measures
- Drive cost reduction, scrap control, and rework minimization
- Support Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, and Stores teams
- Support new product trials and process validations
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production MIS reports

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of welding processes and standards
- Excellent team leadership and people management skills
- Good understanding of production planning and control
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and manufacturing systems

Mandatory Requirements

- B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- 8-10 years of production experience
- Prior experience in Iron & Steel or Automotive manufacturing
- Strong hands-on exposure to welding operations
- Proven shop-floor team handling experience
